An ancient tomb dating back to the Spring and Autumn (Chunqiu) period (770 B.C.-476 B.C.) has been excavated in Bangbu, east China's Anhui province.

The local provincial cultural relics department surmises that the large tomb, "No. 1 of Shuangdun," is an imperial burial place, Xinhua agency reported on Sunday. The tomb is a rare discovery, because it is round and has a unique layout of four chambers at the bottom.

Archaeologists are continuing their excavation work to identify who occupies the tomb and conduct further research on their findings. They first believe the tomb is one vassal's.(CRIENGLISH.com )
