Statistics released by travel agencies that do such business show that more and more Chinese Americans living in South California travel to China. On holidays, they become the major tourist source between China and the United States.

As Sino-US trade activities increase, descendants of the first generation of Chinese Americans in the United States take this opportunity to start their business in China. The number of Chinese Americans traveling during the period of the New Year and the traditional Chinese Spring Festival (Lunar New Year) will increase by 10-20% than usual, said Han Xiaohan, head of the Market and Planning Department at the Asia Travel Agency in the US.

As Han Xiaohan said, in the past most Americans went to China for sightseeing purpose but now, their proportion has reduced to only 50% of the total tourist number, and the rest are all people who travel between China and the United States for business purpose.
